How matching works
Our recommendation engine scores every vehicle in our catalog across 9 dimensions: personality fit, “superpower” alignment, price tier, powertrain preference, environment (urban / suburban / exurban / remote), capacity, body style, distance / range, and total cost of ownership.
The 9 scores are weighted into a single composite (0–100). Hard filters (price band, powertrain compatibility, seating, cargo) keep mismatches out of your results. The whole pipeline runs in milliseconds and is fully algorithm-led — there are no paid placements, no sponsored slots, and no advertiser influence on the ranking.

- Sourced from public manufacturer specs (carapi.app), Stellantis / Toyota / Honda / etc. press releases, and direct OEM pages where allowed

CarMatch is free because we earn affiliate commission when you click “Say Hi” on a recommended car and visit the manufacturer’s or partner’s site. These affiliate links do not influence our recommendations — matching is purely a function of your answers and the catalog. We disclose affiliate relationships on every page where they apply, and the full list of partners we work with at any given time is detailed in our Privacy Notice.
When ads do appear on the results page, they come from third-party ad networks and are clearly labeled as “Message from our CarMatch Partners.” They’re distinct from your match recommendations.
